Christmas Tweakings, thinking inside the box.

We’re having a bit of a rough ride this Christmas.  Quite suddenly and shockingly Beloved’s Mother has been taken seriously ill and is in an isolation ward in our local hospital. The staff are wonderful but, because of infection control, we can’t decorate her room for Christmas.

Beloved had the wonderful idea of taking a whole room in a box, already decorated, and the ward staff have said we can sneak it in, so,  Son and I have made this:

Take a box
Cut it to size

Cover your walls with magazine pictures and free printables http://www.jennifersprintables.com/
Cut a carpet tile to fit the box

Slide your carpet in place
Slide your precovered cardboard chimney into place.

Let small boy loose with dolls house furniture and decorations.
Add lights and there you have it. Christmas in a box.

Whatever you’re dealing with, wherever you are, I wish you all a peaceful Christmas, x

Just for your interest, I am attaching a link to “Caring Walls”, a product line created by a friend of mine who was in a similar situation. It has developed into a successful business.

This is such a thoughtful and wonderful idea.
But more than anything I hope she is soon out of hospital so you can all have a special Christmas all together – toasting marshmallows and opening presents in front of a roaring fire just like that one.
